IN-DEPTH BIOGRAPHY
Storyteller Cherie Karo Schwartz has been telling and teaching
in Colorado, around the country, and abroad for over 27
years, sharing over 300 spirit-filled tales of wishes, wisdom,
and wonder from throughout the ages and for all ages. Her
specialities include worldwide folklore, Jewish tales, and
riddle stories.
Cherie performs and teaches in schools, colleges, libraries,
museums, synagogues, and for conferences. She provides artist-in-residence
and guest author and artist programs, lectures, and keynote
speaches. She offers storytelling and training for teachers
and docents at the Denver Museum of Natural History, for
the DPS Spellbinders (volunteer storytellers), for teachers,
for librarians, and for many regional storytellers. Cherie
is a founding co-coordinator of the international Jewish
Storytelling Association.
She has proiduced five cassette tapes of Jewish stories,
including WORLDWIDE JEWISH FOLKTALES OF WISHES AND WISDOM
and MIRIAM'S TAMBOURINE. Her first book, MY
LUCKY DREIDEL: HANUKKAH STORIES, SONGS, POEMS, CRAFTS, RECIPES,
AND FUN FOR KIDS was a Jewish best-seller. Her
second book THE
KIDS' CATALOG OF PASSOVER: A WORLDWIDE CELEBRATION,
